Refreshing and light, with great acidity, our rose makes for great summer drinking. Great at cellar temp and chilled, it will pair nicely with food and enjoyed by itself. This vintage is based off of Cinsault for Camp4 Vineyard. Cinsault makes great rose because the berries are particularly juicy and also they do not impart much color in the press. So much so, that our Cinsault component actually appeared to be a white wine with virtually no pink hue in it. Some of our rose fermentations generated strong thiol compounds making for a perky flavor profile. Air exposure is recommended to blow off the initial reductive note.
Last date Tasted: April, 2023
Color: pale salmon orange/pink
Nose: reductiveness that blows off quickly to reveal perky thiol, pungent, pine resin/ juniper notes (gin botanicals), rubbed fennel fronds, watermelon, dragonfruit, cherry, strawberry cream
Mouth: Light and airy, delicate yet rich, nice acid profile, tasty ester driven fruit, banana, cherry, strawberry
Decant for: vigorous initial aeration will allow this wine to open up nicely.
Pair with: fruit, light salad, pizza, cheese, bagel with lox/cream cheese, tuna on rye
