One of our favorite varieties, Grenache’s ability to capture fruit deliciousness is almost unrivaled amongst wine grapes. Our 2020 Grenache is a blend from Luna Matta in Adelaida District and Christy&Wise near Lompoc. The Luna Matta Grenache consistently produces amazing structure and minerality and fruit purity. Christy&Wise is a new biodynamically farmed site west of Sta Rita Hills. The tiny bushvine Grenache there yields a very small crop of very concentrated fruit. Yields from our parcel were much lower than expected with the resulting wine turned to the max. The natural acidity and color and flavor were so intense the wine needed to be blended for balance.

Color: vibrant crimson 

Nose: Minerality, Luna Matta terroir, pomegranate, raspberry, marzipan, fennel

Mouth: nice attack, great acidity and structure, candied red fruit, summer boysenberry, iodine, graphite

Decant for: An hour of decanting will allow this wine to open up nicely.

Pair with: duck confit, mushroom alfredo or risotto, burger

Drinkability: Drink now through 2032
