Primarily made from head trained vines grapes, grown high up and far west in the Adelaida District, blended with one of Santa Barbara Countys’ foremost Petite Sirah vineyards. Rolph Family in Adelaida District grows head trained Petite Sirah resulting in thick skinned low yielding fruit. The 2019 Rolph Petite fermentation showed deep dark color and amazing rotundone and peppercorn notes. Thompson Vineyard’s famous Carrari clone Petite Sirah yields some of the most pure, beautiful renditions of this variety. Aged for 22 months in (25% new) French oak, softening the robust tannins and adding a beautiful complexity.

Nose: Fresh blue fruit, violets, earth, bramble, peppercorn
Mouth: Huge, extracted, tannic weight yet light on the palate. Good acidity, beautiful black and blue fruits, sarsaparilla, asian spices, tea, raw meat, beautiful oak profile, long finish
Decant for: 1-2 hours
Pair with: Juicy burger, chorizo, birria tacos
