The steep, windswept slopes of the western Santa Ynez Valley is prime location for producing top class cool climate Syrah. The wind and the sandy soil cause a struggle for vine growth and the cool, coastal weather means a very long growing season. 2019 was a season with excellent growing conditions, producing ripe and complex wines. This Syrah is loaded with character and complexity, displaying the full spectrum of SBC Syrah notes including ripe fruit, floral, spice and animal notes. It was aged for 22 months, developing a round, dense mouthfeel with integrated tannin.
