Pure Grenache expression without any new oak impact. Sourced from grand cru coastal vineyards that grow miniscule crops of small cluster concentrated Grenache with the cool climate extending their growing season allowing for very intense varietal characteristics to shine. Both Luna Matta and John Sebastiano are extreme, rugged vineyards with Luna Matta having calcareous soil and extreme diurnal temperature shifts and John Sebastiano having very sandy steep slopes and a clear line to the ocean with  violent off shore winds blasting the vines. A very small amount of Luna Matta Cinsault cofermented with Grenache add a hint of complexity. Ripe, concentrated, complex aromas and flavors  of Grenache fruit and incense pair with a dense, tannic mouthfeel, expressing Central Coast Rhone fruit at its pinnacle.

Nose: Intense, concentrated raspberry, fresh, ripe pomegranate,  incense, garrigue, cream

Mouth: medium to full bodied, juicy, red fruit acidity and paradoxically round yet mineral tannic structure, delicious varietal red fruit notes.

Decant for: An hour of decanting will allow this wine to open up nicely.

Pair with: Best enjoyed with a well salted fatty ribeye, beef bourguignon, rich root vegetable dishes.
