2018 Power to the People
Varietals: Syrah, Viognier
Vineyards: Thompson, Shokrian
Regions: Alisos Canyon AVA and Cat Canyon Corridor, Santa Barbara County, CA
Bottle Size: 750ml
Our flagship wine, showcasing the central coasts’ ability to produce some of the greatest, most opulent Syrah in the New World. The cool to moderate micro climates of both Thompson and Shokrian allow Syrah to ripen slowly, with their harvests consistently in late October through mid November. Thompson’s Estrella clone Syrah is the foundation of the blend, with its robust tannin, full body and dark blueberry fruit. Shokrian’s mutant, with its complex notes of game, spice, herbs and exotic fruit tones, highlighting Syrah’s amazing complexity. The Shokrian was co fermented with 2% Viognier, adding even more complexity. Both wines were aged in new French Oak, adding baking spice and toasty notes to the wine.
