This year we combined Grenache from the cool climate Santa Maria Valley and from the warmer climate of Adelaida District in Paso Robles. Both climates really work well for high-end Grenache, where clusters and berries stay small allowing for more concentrated flavors, color and tannin without losing any acidity. The Adelaida fruit is from one of our favorite vineyards, Luna Matta which brings an amazing, minerality/mouthwatering tannin profile and just the most beautiful Grenache flavors. The Murmur fruit is grown on a south west facing slope with direct contact to the Santa Maria Valley’s morning marine layer. Yields are low and the Grenache from here is very dark with a very exotic flavor profile.
