Bottle Size: 750 ml
Paso Robles is one of Zinfandel’s strongholds, having plantings that are almost a century old. Ha’azinu comes from organically grown, head trained Hambrecht and Primitivo clones planted in Whalerock Vineyard, a vineyard with fossilized whale bones scattered throughout the property. The Templeton Gap on the Westside of Paso Robles funnels powerful coastal winds near Big Sur and Monterey through the vineyards creating diurnal temperature shifts of about 50 degrees. This nightly chilling effect is what helps grapes retain acidity. True to form, this Westside Zin has plenty of acidity.
On the nose distinct juniper berry and bramble mingle with creme brulee toasty oak. Ripe Bing cherry and strawberry fruit and bouquet garni on the palate along with iron clad tannin on the finish.
