This wine is 100% Mourvedre, a well traveled, warm climate grape that ripens very late. Blended from the cooler Martian Vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley, and Kiler Canyon Vineyard in the warm climate Paso Robles. There is a certain wild, feral quality and a rustic, old world personality that works great with the flavor profile of this wine.
Purple – maroon on the edges.
Collaborative notes from our winery team (Gabe, Shimon, & Alex):
Nose: A beautiful and complex wine, showing pronounced notes of cherry, as well as herbal notes of juniper and sage, and the varietal characteristic of raw gamey meat.
Palate: Some integrated oak gives a warm baking spice characteristic, along with red cherry, herbs and barrel char. Balanced tannin and acidity.
