For this second round of the very popular Counterpunch, we blended 75% Grenache, and 25% Syrah from the well established Camp 4 Vineyard, in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara County, CA. This warm climate Grenache blend once again delivers a ripe yet wildly aromatic wine.
Collaborative notes from our winery team (Gabe, Shimon, & Alex):
Medium depth – Red to Maroon (on the edges).
Nose: Ripe red fruit hide just behind an ever so slight oak toast, light cocoa, meaty, wild bramble and leather. Opening further into sweet raspberries, rose petal, cranberry, plum, slightly candied, freshening wintergreen/menthol.
Palate: Medium/full bodied. Bright acidity, tobacco, herbacious, hard candy, smoked meat, tobacco, cranberry/strawberry & cocoa. With very fine tannins all the way through to the finish.
